Project Management Weekly Reading List #5 is here.
Broaden your knowledge and skills of a project manager.
1. How to explain the skill set of a project manager
Sylvia Moses says:
Experienced project managers will tell you the same thing: managing projects is easy. Leading them, however, is a massive challenge.
And I can’t agree more.
More often than I want, I can see project managers with great disbalance in skills. Some go to hard on soft skills and leadership. Others tend to manage people.
2. All you need to know about the project schedule
Do you need a refresher on how to create a Project Schedule? Mike Clayton rolled out another in-depth article for you. He decomposed it to the granular level and provided some stellar charts.
Worth reading for big and small.
3. Do you take old-style sick days?
A long time ago I didn’t. I worked from home with a high temperature and without a bit of energy. Did anyone benefit from it? No.
By the way, by supporting this “always at work” trend you harm others. Do you really need more arguments to take sick leave and recover from illness?
4. The next skill to boost
Which one is that?
Can you guess?
(let me know if you guessed it correctly in the comments below.)
Did I ever mention the “Further” by Brian Clark?
It’s a great resource to get some tips on health, wealth, and personal development.
I recommend you to start your acquaintance with tips on how to stop to worry. All project managers need this.
That’s all managers! Please share this article on your favorite social network. Thanks in advance!
